  3. The best topic for you is one that you find “in your own backyard”

  4. Biggest Mistake THINKING you have to have an idea (problem) already defined

  5. You TRY to make a problem appear by MAGIC.

  6. The first thing to do is calm down and start thinking

  7. Next, the topic should be something that YOU like!

  8. Animals people rocks music shopping clothing Talking on the telephone television computers issues about the environment So, what do you like?

  9. Wait a minute, you could perform a thousand projects over EACH of those ideas

  10. Now, go READ something about your project.

  11. What makes a person be involved with gangs? (people) How can I best train my dog? (animals) Then you come back with

  12. What is the difference between music and noise? (music)

  13. What TV shows do people watch? (television)

  14. Good- we are almost there – now define it a little more!

  15. Does the length of the training session with a dog have a marked difference in whether the animal retains the skill? (animals)

  16. Does violence on television have a greater detrimental effect on children between the ages of 3 & 6 or 6 & 12? (television)

  17. Does atmospheric temperature have an effect on the ability to tune an instrument? (music)

  18. Now you are on your way to an AWARD WINNING Project

  19. Set a goal for yourself! • I will read or think about my project ________ minutes or hours a week until I come up with an idea!

  20. Next develop a hypothesis

  21. This will tell you HOW to test the problem

  22. Collect data and analyze!
