ADVEX workshop in LUND22-24 March 2007 Aim - To present new ADVEX related findings since the Crete meeting - To discuss and further develop these findings - To define the direction of future action and data analysis List of papers with intention of publication of a journal special issue on advection (to be discussed in the parallel session) Agreement for organization of a conference on advection to be held in summer 2008 in Belgium

ADVEX overview paper summary: vertical advection positive during the night zero Zero mean but large scatter
ADVEX overview paper summary: horizontal advection Positive during the nightslightly negative during the day, trunk space Weak positive advection during the nighttrunk space Large negative advection during the nightlarge scattercrown space
ADVEX oveview paper summary: advection and flow direction at night Well defined pattern related to drainage flows, reducing the reported sink Large negative advection, large scatter, chaoticreducing the reported source Weak advection for some wind sectors
Main results of site comparison - advection affects different sites in different ways - advection occurs under certain local or synoptic meteorological conditions - advection has different reasons at different sites - that it is not possible to use directly measured advection values for estimations of NEE on the base of e.g. half hourly values - that it seems possible to quantify the influence of advection for certain conditions at a certain site - that it may even be possible to extend these findings to general recommendations for certain types of sites (slope, hill, flat)
