Shark data Mean is the average of a Data set. In this case, the mean is the average male and female shark lengths.
Percentage of Bottle caps Percent is a way of expressing numbers out of 100. In this case percentages are used to show the percent of different colored bottle caps out of the total.
FACTORS THAT AFFECT Coral planula SURVIVAL Probability is a way to measure the chances that something will occur in relation to the possible alternatives In this case probability was the probability of 18 coral planula surviving certain conditions using dice. Observed probability is the amount of Coral that survived when I rolled the dice. Theoretical probability is the amount of Coral that theoretically were supposed to survive. These are the factors that affect coral Temp 2,3,4,5 Depth 1,2,3,4 Wave 4,5,6
Variance • Definition: Variance is the measure of how far apart a set of numbers are. • = ∑ (X-)2 • -1 The variance of the sea cigar lengths are 25.3 X2
Standard deviation • Definition: Describes how far data is from the average • =standard deviation The standard deviation of the sea cigar lengths is ±5.3
Theoretical distribution curve TDC is a curve to show the theoretical areas random samples would likelyfall under.
T-test • T-Test is to find if there is a significant difference between two means from two sets. • If the t-test is greater than the critical number in the df row and 2 tail or 1 tail column, than the null hypothesis is rejected and if the t test is less than the critical number than the null hypothesis failed to be rejected.
