1. Welcome Students! In this course we will be using eInstruction CPSRF: A classroom response system to conduct real-time polling in class.

2. How does it work? • Questions are posed in class. • Use your personal remote to enter your answer. • Results are automatically tallied and displayed anonymously to the entire class. • You receivepoints for participatingand/or answering correctly. • All of the above!

4. Clicker questions will: • Reinforce concepts in this course. • Provide quick “progress checks” during lecture. • Monitor attendance and participation • Instantly show how well (or not) the entire class understands the material.

5. Here’s what you need: • Buy a personal CPSRF student remote (purchased stand-alone at the bookstore). • Register your clicker online to participate and “enroll” in the clicker gradebook.

8. Registering through CPS: Create an Account 1) Go to the homepage at www.einstruction.com 2) In the very top of the screen, click the link for “CPSOnline Login” 3) Click

9. Select your school from the dropdown menu and then click “Choose Site.”

10. If this is your first time using CPS, click “Create New Account”

11. You will need your email address and the Serial number from your clicker (shown below) . Click Continue. NOTE: Simply turn on your remote to see your serial number displayed on the screen.

12. Follow the prompts to create your personal user name & password. Enter your First and Last name as they appear in your school records. Click Submit. TIP: Create a username & password that you will remember…write it down someplace safe!

13. Once you set up your account, you may immediately enroll in your class by clicking “Yes.” You may also enroll at a later time by logging in to your account.

14. Enroll in a Course You will be asked for the “Class Key” for your course. Your Class Key is: ______ If you have an enrollment code purchased from the bookstore, enter that. Otherwise, read the refund policy (be sure to click the “check” box) and click “Next.”

15. Review the Payment Options (options will vary by school). Unless you have an enrollment code purchased standalone from the bookstore, you will then select your method of payment: Credit card or personal check. Once your enrollment is complete, you may click “Enter the Class” or Log Out. Log Out

16. Using your CPS Online Account • Return to www.einstruction.com • Click the link for CPSOnline Log In • Select your school • Enter your user name / password • Enroll in additional CPS classes • Add, remove, or change your clicker serial # • Update your profile, including your student ID

18. When you come to class: • Turn ON your Clicker • “Join” the class • When I ask a “clicker” question, enter your answer in the keypad and click Send. • Turn OFF your remote the end of class.
