Research Performance Progress Report (RPPR) • This past summer NIH rolled out Phase I requiring the use of RPPR module to submit SNAP and fellowship award progress reports. • NIH is now rolling out RPPR Phase II PILOT Phase encouraging participating institutions to consider submission of the RPPR module for non-SNAP progress reports. (PHS 2590) • WHEN? Reports due between November 1, 2013 and February 1, 2014. • Expecting success with Pilot Phase II, NIH anticipates requirement beginning August 2014.

  4. eRA Commons User IDs • Individuals with Graduate or UndergraduateStudent roles participating in a NIH project for at least one person month or more will be required to have an eRA Commons ID. • Contact your OSP Grants Officer now to get students set up with appropriate role and avoid system warnings • NIH plans to make this MANDATORY in October 2014. http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-13-097.html

  6. NIH Continuing Resolution • NIH will issue non –competing awards at level below most recent Notice of Award (generally up to 90% of the previously committed level) • Upward adjustments to awarded levels will be considered after FY 2014 appropriations are enacted.

  8. NSF Proposal and Award Policies and Procedures Guide (PAPPG) • NSF released a Revised guide: NSF 14-1 • Effective for proposals submitted or due on or after February 24, 2014.
