  2. Aims of this workshop: • Understand the apprenticeship options available to students • Find out how students can find degree apprenticeships • Understand why apprenticeships should be considered as an option when advising students • Demonstrate Go Higher West Yorkshire ‘Headstart’ resource

  3. What are degree apprenticeships? • A job with significant training (at least 20% of the role is allocated to ‘off-the-job’ training). • Combines full-time paid work and part-time university study to offer opportunity to gain a full Bachelors or Masters degree. • Created partnership between learners, employers, universities and professional bodies. • Learning fits around that work commitment and requires flexible learning modes such as day or block release, distance or blended learning. • They can take between three to six years to complete, depending on the course level and what is stated in the national ‘standard’.
