Future Competitors • Google base is a classified advertising service that allows users to post their items for sale. • A Google base demo was launched and it carried a variety of suggestions for things as diverse as used cars, party planners, articles on current events from your website. • Google has also been working on a payment system,Google wallet which would hook accounts to credit cards so that users can pay individuals as well as merchants and can transfer money in and out. • The highly profitable revenue from ads has enabled Google to offer a raft of new consumer services, from e-mail to desktop search, for free. Ebay in the future Ebay finds its voice • The acquisition of skype will strengthen eBay’s global marketplace and payments platform, while opening several new lines of business and creating significant new monetization opportunities for the company. • If customers can talk about a deal, it would help the transaction take place. If there's questions about, say a large, expensive item, the customer will be able to satisfy it. • Skype can increase the velocity of trade on eBay, especially in categories that require more involved communications such as used cars, business and industrial equipment, and high-end collectibles. • Skype will be implemented in 2006.
