Consortial Pricing • Consortial premium gives: • Shared access to all titles held by the consortium as a whole OR • Access to the entire corpus
Consortial Pricing contd: • Consortial premium is composed of: • Sum of the full price value of subscriptions not currently held by each participating institution, less a discount of 85% for titles over 10 years old, and 15% for titles under 10 years old • 90% of the value of any currently held print subscriptions which are subsequently cancelled, or 100% of the value of any currently held online only subscriptions which are subsequently cancelled.
Consortial premium contd... • Discounts are negotiable for community colleges, schools etc • Multi-year deals with price caps are available
Future Pricing • Many consortia are asking for pricing to be loaded mainly on to the online corpus, with print subscriptions at deep discounts and no cancellation restrictions. • We are working on this for 2002, but it requires that deals be signed before renewals have been placed under the old system.
