2. Portugal: • Our school is located in the south of Portugal in a very small town called Beja. The region has very specific conditions for it has its base in agriculture and services and it is the largest region of Portugal but the least populated. The district where the school has been placed is characterized by various poor and minority group neighborhoods. A large number of our pupils belong to these poor strata groups and there are many minority groups like gypsies and ex-Russian colony residents in the area. The school also faces challenges with special needs pupils that have integrated with the common curriculum pupils. We believe that the participation of the school in projects with international partners is quite useful for both the teachers and for pupils for it will help in sharing ideas, concepts and personal experience, enlargement of the children's knowledge and notions about universe for they will unfortunately not have the opportunity to ever visit other countries. It is also useful to get to know a new culture and its distinctive so as to compare the lifestyles, accepting differences and adapting to them.
