Field Operations UnitStatus Goal for Callouts and Special Events is 25 – 33% depending on unit. About 40% of members do not meet the goal! This year 27% of members have not participated in ANY unit callouts or Special Events!
Field Operations Unit • Proposed Participation • Non Officers ICS-100 IS-700; (ICS -200 rec.) • Officers ICS-200 and 800 / other, minimum • 20-30 hours of participation (TBD) • Completion of “NEMA Overview Orientation” (TBD) • Unit Specific requirements for individuals e.g. Drivers, Operators, Officers
Field Operations UnitGeneral Objectives • Participation increase ASAP or weed out. • Develop and implement a more effective training program with better training tools, and more formalized member accountability. • Better Planning – Timelines and Calendar • More Class B Non-CDLs • More Drivers and Operators Certified on ALL Vehicles to assure adequate coverage and shift autonomy. • SAR – All Technician Certified • MOC1 – Drivers and System Operators
Field Operations UnitShort-term Objectives By year-end 2011 (3-months): • Completion of Drivers Supplement to Task Book for MABAS 16 Air • Completion of Drivers Supplement to Task Book for Light Truck 352 • Completion of Task Book for Rehab 7. • Completion of Task Book for LT 357. • Completion of Task Book for MOC 1. • Completion of Task Book for Non-CDL Licensing Process and Road Test Preparation
Field Operations UnitShort-termObjectives • Each shift to develop a training plan and calendar timeline for certification of members using the Task Books for all vehicles i.e. MABAS 16 Air; 352; 357; Rehab 7. The Plan should include separate treatment for Drivers and /or Vehicle Operators and a schedule for implementation. • Create a formal general monday training calendar of events for 2012. • Focus on MABAS 16 Air and 352 / 357 training given their frequent use.

Black Shift Command - All shifts invitation. MABAS Air Practical Training

Kent Te Vault (OIC) All shift invitation. • 11/21 No Training –Thanksgiving week • 11/28 Hazmat /ZUMRO deployment at WSC, 1900. Gold Shift Command – all shift invitation. • 12/5 TBA
Field Operations UnitLong-termObjectives By end of Second Quarter 2012 (6-months) • Develop enhanced training tools e.g. more use of visually-oriented PowerPoint presentations, video content, web-based curriculum distribution. • Have all qualified members complete the Task Book certification process.
