Major Events West Bank: Israel, together with the international community, continues to undertake positive civil, economic and security measures in order to improve the Palestinian way of like. Israel is working to increase free movement by removing and opening crossings. The crossings which were opened in the past two weeks join the 140 crossings which have been removed in the last year alone. Despite this, terrorist activity continues, jeopardizing the significant achievements recently. Determined, effective action against the terror in the West Bank must be taken by the PA Security Forces. Gaza Strip: Humanitarian crossings remain open, allowing the ongoing transfer of food, medicine and medical supplies. In the past two weeks, there has been a noticeable increase in the distribution of humanitarian supply being transferred from Israel to the Gaza Strip. Terrorist organizations continue terrorist attack attempts, particularly near the crossings, while the Hamas continues its efforts to rehabilitate and strengthen itself. The IDF's activities in the region to prevent terror, both via aerial targeting and ground activity, continue.
Major Events – West Bank • June 29th – An ‘FN’-type handgun was found during the arrest of a Palestinian suspect near Yitzhar. • An Israeli civilian was lightly injured as a result of rock throwing by Palestinian rioters near Yitzhar. • June 28th – A mock-explosive was discovered by an IDF force during a patrol in the vicinity of Ofarim. • A number of Palestinians rioted and threw Molotov cocktails at an Israeli bus near Beit Omer village and at an Israeli vehicle in the vicinity of Al Arov village (close to Karmei Tzur). No one was injured. Weekend June 26th – 27th • June 29th – A mock explosive was discovered by an IDF force during a patrol near Lilach. • 2 soldiers were lightly injured as a result of rock throwing of a number of Palestinian rioters in Bal’in and Ni’alin villages. The soldiers were treated at the spot.
Major Events – West Bank • June 24th – A ‘Kalashnikov’-type and a ‘Carl Gustav’-type rifle were discovered by an IDF force during an operation in Awarta village, near Itamar. • Two ‘Carl Gustav’-type rifles and an hunting rifle were discovered by an IDF force during an operation in Silawad village, near the community of Ofra. • June 23rd – An ‘FN’-type handgun and a magazine with 13 bullets were discovered during the arrest of a Palestinian suspect in Hebron. • June 22nd – A mock-explosive device was discovered by the Israeli Police in a cemetery in the community of Barkan. • 2 improvised explosives were thrown towards an IDF force during a patrol in Dora village, near the community of Adura. Major Events – Gaza Strip • June 18th – A pipe bomb, gas grenade, 3 stun grenades and several bullets were found on two Palestinian suspects during an IDF arrest in Nablus. • June 17th – A Palestinian woman rioted and attempted to stab an IDF soldier at crossing 407, near Tul Karem. No one was injured. • June 16th – A mock-explosive device was discovered by an IDF force during a patrol in the community of Barkan. • A ‘Carl Gustav’rifle was discovered in the possessions of 4 Palestinian suspects during an arrest in Silawad village (approximately 3 km north of the community of Ofra). • A Palestinian suspect carrying a knife rioted and attempted to stab an IDF soldier. The suspect was arrested in Bitoni crossing, in the vicinity of Ramallah, by an IDF force.
Major Events – Gaza Strip • June 29th – A mortar shell fell near Karni crossing. • 2 Palestinians were identified placing an explosive mine near Karni crossing. During the event, 2 mortar shells were fired towards an IDF force. In response to the attacks, the force fired mortars at the armed men. No one was hurt. The A QASSAM ROCKET (ARCHIVE) • ‘Hamas’ organization took responsibility for the firing of the mortar shells. • A Qassam rocket was launched from the Gaza Strip.
Major Events – Gaza Strip • June 26th – 2 dud mortar shells were found in the vicinity of Kissufim. • June 25th – Light arms fire was performed from the Gaza Strip towards the direction of the security fence near Karni crosing. No one was hurt, but the fence was damaged. In response, an IDF force carried out light arms fire towards a number of armed men near the fence. • June 21st – 2 mortar shells were fired towards an IDF force approximately 5 km NE of Kissufim. In addition, sniper shooting was performed towards the force. • While patrolling the area near Kissufim, an IDF force identified a flash of light and heard a sound of detonation in the region. No rocket fall was identified, however it appears it was a mortar shell.
Major Events – Other Arenas • June 26th – 3 LAF soldiers threw stones towards the fence and pointed their weapon towards Israeli premise near Fatma gate.

Around the IDF • June 25th - The cadets of the 158th IAF Pilot’s Course graduated after three years of intensive training, including officers training, pilots training and a degree from the Ben Gurion University. The ceremony, which was held at the Hatzerim Air Force Base, was attended by the President of the State of Israel, the Defense Minister, the Chief of the General Staff and the Commander in Chief of the IAF. The new pilots are going to enter their positions in the various IAF squadrons within the next few days. • June 24th – 417 cadets of the Israeli Ground Forces in the Officer’s School (‘Bahad 1’) have been granted officer ranks at the end of a 8-month training program in a ceremony headed by the Defense Minister, the Chief of the General Staff and the Chief of the Ground Forces Command.
Around the IDF • June 23rd – The “Israeli Safety Award” ceremony took place in the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. The award, granted for the 52nd consecutive year, is an award being granted to the masterminds whose inventions were proven to be operationally effective, were tested in real time and won a great deal of success.
