Franchising in Colombia • The US Commercial Services is currently working with the Colombian government to create a legalframework for franchising. • The FTA will help to expand trade with Colombia which will increase U.S. exports of technologies and capital goods required by franchises. • The Franchise sector grew 4% in 2011.

Chile’s economic overview • Chile remains one of the most stable and prosperous developing nations in Latin America. • 2011 GDP growth was 6.2% and the inflation rate was 3.9%, with a nominal GDP of approximately US$ 200 billion. • 2012 GDP growth estimate: 4.5%.
