CREDITS VS COURSES • Only courses that have a 11 or 12 count as a credit i.e. English 112 • Course that have a 9 or 10 do not count as credits i.e. English 102 • Credits for graduation begin to accumulate in Gr. 10 (usually only 2)
Graduation Requirements 2014: 17 out of 22 credits • 3 Eng (11 [2 credits] and Eng. 12) • 1Math 11/FI (Financial & Workplace/Foundations) • 1Mod Hist 111/112/113 • 1Science (Bio, Chem, Phys, Phys Geog, EnvSc, Robotics & Tech ,Electronics) • 1Fine Arts/Life Role Development(Visual Arts 11/12, Music 11 or 12, Fine Arts, Theater Arts, IndFam Living, Coop, HPE11/12, Entrep11, Outdoor Pursuits, Reading Tutor 120, Graphic Art & Des.) • 7COMPULSORY CREDITS [includes pass in Eng Lang Proficiency Assessment • +10 OPTIONS (ONLY 2 MAY BE LOCAL OPTION) • 17 TOTAL CREDITS TO GRADUATE

Math (1 or 2) Foundations or Finance and Workplace math is a required course for graduation. (1 or 2) English (2) English 112 is a grad requirement. Students must select both English A and B sections. (2) History (1) Modern History is a grad requirement. Students must select 1 or 2 if they are repeating or taking Social Studies 10. (1)

We do ENCOURAGE students to take more than one science and to explore different fields. (1 at least) • Life Role ( 1 or more) • All students must have 1 Life Role credit. Students may take more if they wish.

Saint John High School Course Registration 2014 -2015 GRADE 12 Students MUST select 10 courses, plus 2 alternates. Please mark an X in the box beside the courses that you wish to select. Students must re-register for all required courses that they have a mark below 55 percent in. Please take your time and give it your full consideration. Starred topics are courses that are not accepted by UNBSJ for application to programs. History Modern History 112 is a grad requirement English (1) English 122 is a grad requirement. If choosing AP both A and B sections must be chosen. ( 1) Math Foundations or Finance and Workplace math is a required course for graduation.
