Background: • Family owned for three generations • Currently owned by Edward K. Bressler • Founded in 1931 • Began selling and repairing Indian motorcycles • Specializes in small engine sales and service • Many other services available as well
Problem: • C. Edgar Thoman Auto Electric, lacks media resources designed for advertising • The lack of advertising media makes it hard to promote the company outside of standard word-of-mouth tactics • Without sufficient advertising capabilities, the client is not gaining any new customers • Without the new customers that the company needs, there is no fresh source of income and limited potential for profit. • Simply, no new customers means no increase in profit. • Currently, the client only uses their main computer for inventory • There is potential to use it for much more
Research/Investigation: • Direct line of communication with client • Craig is the son of Thoman’s current owner • Talked with the family owners in order to determine what they would like our help with the most.
Obstacles: • Challenges in meeting times for the group • Difficult with people’s schedule to work outside of class • Had to depend on e-mail correspondence • Hard to meet to prepare for the presentation • Finding older logo’s to use on the business cards • We wanted to honor the original business cards of the previous owner • Creation of the website • Nate is the only IT guy we had • Creation of the first website using the WIX program • Gathering Photos to be used on the website • Gathering all of the information to be placed on the website • Time involved with the website • Held us up when it came to writing the short report
