Confession • “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling .” Philippians 2.12 • “There is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” 1 Timothy 2.5 • “Confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another.” James 5.16 • “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1.9

  7. God is Light • Light stresses the desire of God to reveal himself. "I am the light of the world.” John 8.12a • Light accents God's empowering activity. “Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." John 8.12b

  8. God is Light God's light requires a change in character For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light, for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth. Ephesians 5.8-9

  13. Do you long to live an unburdened life? Do you long for more power to do the work of God? Do you feel inadequate to deal with the desperate needs that confront you? Do you lack the spiritual resources to navigate the challenges of life? Is there something blocking the flow of God’s power to your life?

  14. Confession • Confession is specific. • Confess the consequences. • Confession precedes forgiveness. • Confession with others can include safe, mature people.
