This study from Russia (2015) focuses on hydrochemistry and pollution levels in Black Sea coastal waters from Anapa to Batumi, covering standard parameters and pollutants. It includes data on 8 stations, 2086 observations, and key elements like oxygen, phosphates, mercury, and pesticides. The aim is to develop a comprehensive monitoring program to address water quality issues and promote data sharing among regional stakeholders and governmental bodies. Financial support, research vessels, and data exchange platforms are essential for effective mitigation strategies.

Major problems • Finance • Research Vessels • Hydrobiology (mainly complete absence or difference in time and space with chemistry) • Data sharing • Transboundary transport of substances (e.g. oil pollution)
Conclusions • 1. The Complex Monitoring Programme (CMP) have to be developed for the Ukrainian, Russian and Georgian part of the Black Sea (Hydrochemistry, Pollution, Hydrobiology etc.) • 2. CMP have to be presented to Governmental Authorities of UA, RU & GE for adoption and financial support • 3. Academical Institutions have to be involved to the CMP mainly using financial sub-contracts • 4. The ship-time problems have to be solved by hiring (renting) small vessels adopted for field sampling • 5. Participation in SeaDataNet is welcome (way to solve of the problem with the data exchange)
