  1. FOLLOWING JESUS Into a new way of mission

  2. Time to be changed For the Kingdom of God is near. After this, Jesus travelled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. Luke 8:1

  3. A life of balance

  4. What a Motley Mix All are called to follow him. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Joanna the wife of Chuza, the manager of Herod's household; Susanna; and many others. These women were helping to support them out of their own means. Luke 8:1b-3

  5. You are chosen To follow Jesus and to live a life of mission You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit— fruit that will last. Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name. John 15:16

  6. The harvest is ripe… But the workers are few… He told them, The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field. Luke 10:2

  7. The harvest is ripe… But the workers are few… I haven’t been that bothered about the lost. I hadn’t grasped how incredible it is to lead someone to Jesus. My ways were so different to Jesus way.

  8. Jesus’ ways Gathering and scattering When Jesus had called the Twelve together, he gave them power and authority to drive out all demons and to cure diseases, and he sent them out to preach the kingdom of God and to heal the sick Luke 9:1-2

  9. Jesus’ ways Who do you gather with? To be a disciple means to be willing to be trained for and sent out on a mission. To be gathered and sent.

  11. Jesus’ ways People of peace When you enter a house, first say, 'Peace to this house.' If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; if not, it will return to you Luke 10:5-6

  12. Jesus’ ways People of peace Find the person of peace, the person who is open to you, interested in you, likes you, wants to be around you. Who is your person of peace?

  13. Jesus’ ways People of peace Go to where they are comfortable.

  14. Jesus’ ways People of peace Accept hospitality . Stay in that house, eating and drinking whatever they give you, for the worker deserves his wages. Do not move around from house to house. Luke 10:7

  15. Jesus’ ways People of peace Spend intentional time with them Do not move around from house to house. Luke 10:7b

  16. Jesus’ ways People of peace Be ready to do the works of the Kingdom and speak the words of the Kingdom (in appropriate ways). Heal the sick who are there and tell them, 'The kingdom of God is near you.‘ Luke 10:8

  17. It’s time to… Follow Jesus into a new way of mission Do you know you are chosen to be God’s worker? Are you willing to be used in the harvest? Who are the people God gathers you with for training? Who are those people sends you too- people of peace?
