PROGRESSION TO HIGHER LEARNING THROUGH UNIONS • 40 per cent of union members already have a higher qualification • Many would like to brush up or renew their skills • Many of the remaining 60 percent would like one too • Unionlearn helped 4,000 members to enrol on formal HE courses last year • Thousands more engaged in informal higher learning activity unionlearn presentation

UNIONLEARN STRATEGY FOR SUPPORTING LEARNERS • Progression for all learners, at all levels • New strategy for 2011-14 • More partnerships and discounts with HEIs • Persuading employers to support progression from level 3/apprenticeships • Tailored CPD routes • Co-investment, collective learning funds • Lobbying government for stronger, fairer student support unionlearn presentation
