  1. Shock tracers in ALMA Band 11 • CO Jup = 9-14: better constraints on shock excitation and magnetic field than low J-CO alone. • cf. SOFIA results in W28F • ALMA angular resolution  shock substructure and origine of broad line width (unexplained by 1D shocks) • o-NH3 (2-1) @1.215 THz • Good tracer of density in C-type shocks • nH =104-105 cm-3, Vs= 20-30 km/s  Predicted TdV = 1-100 K km/s (Flower & Pineau des Forêts 2012) 1D C-shock models SOFIA W28F (Gusdorf et al. 2012)

  2. Shock tracers in ALMA Band 11 • at z > 0 (eg. galaxy collisions, AGN jet feedback): • [OI] 63mic, 145mic • Bright in dissociative shocks > 20 km/s • OH 119mic, 180mic • CO J > 14 • CO brighter than OH in non-dissociative shocks • H2O 557 GHz fundamental line at z = 2. Stronger than CO in shocks > 10 km/s
