EXPORTS Step 2: The shipper/forwarder can either make a booking with the shipping line by phone or electronically. Booking Shipper/Forwarder Shipping Line
EXPORTS Step 3: The shipping line sends a booking confirmation to the terminal and shipper/forwarder quoting a container number. Shipper/Forwarder Booking Confirmation Shipping line Terminal
EXPORTS Step 4: The shipper/forwarder/transport company sends an electronic ERA to the terminal quoting the container number supplied in the Booking Confirmation. The ERA is therefore a pre-advice which the terminal checks against the Booking Confirmation supplied by the shipping line for discrepancies. Electronic ERA Shipper/Forwarder/Transport Co Terminal
EXPORTS Step 5: The shipper/forwarder/transport company makes a vehicle booking electronically through to the terminal, again quoting the container number. This ties the vehicle booking to the ERA/Cargo details. Vehicle Booking System Shipper/Forwarder/ Transport Co. Terminal

IMPORTS Step 4: Having checked the status with Customs, the importer/agent makes a vehicle booking electronically through to the terminal, again quoting the container number. This ties the vehicle booking to the Delivery Order. Vehicle Booking System Importer/Agent Terminal
