Export contacts from Outlook Steps to export from Outlook 2007/2010 (For OWA, skip ahead): • Summary of Steps (please see following pages for screenshots): • For Outlook 2007, Select File | Import and Export from the File menu. For Outlook 2010, Select File tab, Open | Import from the File menu. • Make sure Export to a file is highlighted. Click Next >. • Now make sure Comma Separated Values (Windows) is selected. Click Next > again. • Highlight the Contacts folder. Click Next >. • Use the Browse... button to specify a location and file name for the exported contacts. Something like "Outlook.csv" or "ol-contacts.csv" on your Desktop should work fine. Click Next > (once more). • Confirm the action item Export "Contacts" from folder: Contacts is checked. Click on Finish and the data will be exported. Back to Contents

Export contacts from Outlook Outlook Web Access (OWA) Instructions: Extracting Contacts From Outlook Web Access To manually copy the contact information into a text file: Click the folder in Outlook Web Access that contains your contacts. You will see the contact details, such as name, email address, etc. Click and drag your cursor so that you have selected the contacts. Click Edit | Copy to copy the information. Open a plain text file (TXT) in a program such as Notepad. Click Edit | Paste to paste the information.Note: If you have many contacts, Outlook Web Access may split them into several pages. Click the page arrow and repeat these steps until you have copied the contacts from all pages into the text file. Click File | Save As. Save the text file to somewhere you can easily locate it. Export contacts from Outlook Outlook Web Access (OWA) Instructions: Moving the Contacts to Excel To transfer the contact information into Microsoft Excel: Open Excel, which should open a new file by default. Click Data | Import External Data | Import Data. Select the text file that contains your contacts. An import wizard will appear. Choose "Delimited" and click Next. Under Delimiters, choose Tab and Space and click Next. Click Finish. Choose Existing Worksheet. The contacts should now appear properly split into multiple columns in Excel. You can also label your columns, though this is optional. Click File | Save As. Under Save As Type, choose CSV (Comma Delimited or *.csv). Save the text file to somewhere you can easily locate it. Click OK on the message "The selected file type does not support workbooks that contain multiple sheets". Your contacts are now ready to be converted into the required format to import into DonorCommunity. Back to Contents
