It is important that each person who starts a career path, and is truly serious about it, knows what they want to achieve and they set their goals toward being successful in their career. A person can be successful in any career they choose in their life if they keep a strong will, have lots of drive, strive to see their accomplishments completed, seek to better themselves through courses and classes to enhance their career, serious minded and level headed, and with a desire to reach the top among their ranks to become one of the best.” Barbara Kasey Smith

  3. Kalin Georgiev Kristalina Georgieva Stefka Kostadinova The Keyto a successful careerin Bulgaria Here are three well - known people in Bulgaria who have achieved a great success in their careers. They all managed to combine high personal qualities with good education and at present they hold major positions in our country.

  4. Kalin Georgiev - Commissioner General of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria Kalin Georgiev was born on June 1, 1968 in the city of Plovdiv. He received his education of Russian Philology at the University of Plovdiv “Paisii Hilendarski” and he has excellent skills in speaking Russian and English . In 1994 he had a training course in the National Academy of FBI. He also has trainings and courses at the special and law enforcement services of the USA and EU Member States.

Kalin Georgiev - Commissioner General of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria From the year 1996 to 2002 he worked at the Ministry of Interior, at first, as a field officer and subsequently, as Head of Group for  International Terrorist Organizations within Plovdiv Regional Unit of the National Security Service. In 2002 he was promoted to a higher rank and started service as a Chief of Combating Organized Crime section in Plovdiv Regional Directorate of Interior. Afterwards in 2008 he was assigned as a Director of the Chief Directorate of Criminal Police.

Kalin Georgiev - Commissioner General of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria During his service in the Ministry of Interior Kalin Georgiev was awarded many timesby the Minister of Interior and the Directors of Europol, FBI and Secret Service. He also received the noble price “Policeman of the year” at a special ceremony in 2007. Kalin Georgiev is responsible for the capture of Budimir Kuyovich – a famous drug dealer and for the seize of a counterfeiterband which managed to produce over 16 million € .

Kalin Georgiev - Commissioner General of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria In August 2009 the President of the Republic of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov employed himwith a decree as Commissioner General of the Ministry of Interior. Nowadays Kalin Georiev is happily married and lives in Sofia with his wife and child.

  8. Kristalina Georgieva - European Commissioner for International Corporation Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Kristalina Georgieva was born on August 13, 1953 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics and a M.A. in Political Economy and Sociology from the University of National and World Economy in Bulgaria. In 1992 she was a Visiting Scholar of a Special Program in Urban Studies in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 1998 she did post-graduate research and studies in natural resource economics and environmental policy at the London School of Economics.

Kristalina Georgieva - European Commissioner for International Corporation Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Prior to joining the World Bank as an Environmental Economist in 1993, she held a range of academic and consulting positions in Bulgaria and the US, and has lectured on development topics in universities around the world, including the Australian National University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University, Harvard University, London School of Economics, the University of the South Pacific and others.

Kristalina Georgieva - European Commissioner for International Corporation Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response In the year of 2000 Kristalina Georgieva was assigned as a Director of the Environment Department and she was in charge of the World Bank environmental strategy, policies and lending. Afterwards she took the post of a Director and Resident Representative, responsible for the World Bank projects in more than forty regions of the Russian Federation. In March 2008 she became Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the World Bank Group, directly reporting to the President.

Kristalina Georgieva - European Commissioner for International Corporation Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response On February 4, 2010 Kristalina Georgieva was proposed as a nominee for European Commissioner from the Republic of Bulgaria. The confirmation hearing of Georgieva took place at the European Parliament Commission. She faced questions on her suitability for the international cooperation, humanitarian aid and crisis response portfolio. Kristalina Georgieva was given a warm response by the Members of the European Parliament and on 9 February 2010 she was approved as a part of the second college of the Barroso Commission.

  12. Stefka Kostadinova - president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee Stefka Kostadinova was born on March 25, 1965 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. She graduated from the Plovdiv School of Sports, initially starting a career of gymnastics and swimming.Afterwards, she graduated Sport’s pedagogy at the University of Plovdiv “Paisi Hilendarski” and Track-and-field athletics at The National Sports Academy in Sofia. Her victorious career of the worlds best high jumper athlete was prepared by the young coach Nikolay Petrov, whom she later married in 1989.

  13. Stefka Kostadinova - president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee She made her first jump over 2 meters high on August 25, 1984. It is an amazing fact that she had jumped over 2.00 m 197 times, an achievement unequalled by any other athlete in the women's high jump. Kostadinova has taken part in five International Association of Athletics Federations World Indoor Championships - Paris 1985, Indianapolis 1987, Budapest 1989, Toronto 1993 and Paris 1997, winning gold in all of them.

Stefka Kostadinova - president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee Stefka Kostadinova holds the world record in the women's high jump at 2.09 m which she jumped during the 1987 World Championships in Athletics in Rome - one of the oldest in modern athletics. She has been voted Sportsperson of the Year in Bulgaria (1985, 1987, 1995 and 1996) and Best Balkan Sportsman (1985, 1987, 1995, 1996, 1997 . She is also included in the Top 10 of the Twentieth Century Female Athletes, according to the International Association of Athletics Federations.

Stefka Kostadinova - president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee In 1995 Kostadinova gave birth to her son, Nikolay, just several months before winning gold in the 1995 World Championships in Athletics. In 1999 she officially put an end to her athletic career, though she has actually not participated in any major sports competitions since the World Indoors Championship in 1997.

  16. Stefka Kostadinova - president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee After retiring, Kostadinova started a career in sports administration. Since 1999 she has held various positions, such as vice president of the Bulgarian Athletics Federation, vice president of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and deputy sports minister of Bulgaria (2003 - 2005). She is currently the President of the Bulgarian Olympic Committee.
