DO011 VP-4 CAC-5 was tasked to conduct surveillance operations in the Maldives and Sri Lanka in support of JTF 536 and the recovery effort for the tsunamis that occurred on 26 Dec. No visible damage was observed in the Maldives. All images were taken near Galle, Sri Lanka.
DO011 VP-4 CAC-5 D Galle, Sri Lanka is situated adjacent to a small bay with a port. Note the small fishing vessel that washed ashore along with large amount of debris. Roads are clear and there is a large amount of bus and car traffic. Many small buildings have been destroyed.

DO011 VP-4 CAC-5 Small fishing vessels tied to this particular pier were tossed by waves. However, no visible damage sustained at adjacent piers.

DO011 VP-4 CAC-5 Approximately 2000 yards from coast. Unable to determine if the debris shown here is from tsunami waters. Did observe large areas of standing water closer to shoreline in other areas. These buildings appear to be intact. Most structural damage seems to have occurred within 1000 yards of the coast.
