South Texas Groups Sue DHS to Restore Environmental Laws along the Border Lower Rio Grande Valley – May 30, 2008 The Frontera Audubon Society, the Friends of the Wildlife Corridor, and the Friends of Laguna Atascosa National Wildlife Refuge are suing Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff for waiving 36 federal laws in order to build walls along the U.S.-Mexico border.
