GN3 is… • Successor to GN2 • funded by EU and NRENs • Proposal submitted 11 Sep 2008 • negotiation / acceptance • Starts April 2009 (if all goes well) • Much more focused on services • roll out of multi-domain end user services • more dependent on NREN collaboration <lastname@terena.org>
NA2 is… • PR activity = ‘Joint Dissemination and Outreach’ • Activity Leader = DANTE (MP & DR) • Comprises 7 tasks: • T1 = Strategy, Planning & Messaging • T2 = Partner Services Promotion • T3 = Web-based Communications • T4 = Materials – printed & AV • T5 = Press & News • T6 = External Events • T7 = Focused Market Research

PSP is… • “very important new task” within NA2 • Task Leader = TERENA (0.8 FTE) • focused on services • “Recognising need for developing multi-domain user services… engage in dialogue with NRENs to encourage consistent roll out of advanced services.” • focused on NRENs – formal recognition ‘in it together’ • “Leading role with NRENs… provide tools, materials & assistance so conduct dissemination in own countries” • “support NREN PR activity to speed dissemination & deployment of services… and take up” • to coordinate with JRAs & SAs developed services (SA3 end-user services in federated environment) • where possible… hand in hand with ‘cookbooks’ & training
PSP will… • Assist NRENs with their dissemination plans & tools for promoting end user services • Work with SA3 – end user services in federated environment • Work with NA2/T1 to plan pan-European comms • Take pan-European implementation / ideas to NRENs via PR Network & return ideas / information from NRENs • which NRENs are interested • how the plans/materials can be adapted on a per-country basis • Monitor results (uptake of PSP by NRENs, uptake of servcies by users) • Report on actions and results (monthly / annually)
Plans so far… • Introduce to TF-PR Sep 08 • Introduce to TF-MSP Feb 09 • Further updates at following meetings • Start in earnest April 09 • Collect info: (liaise NREN services managers, PRs, technical people, GN3 Als, TLs, TFs) • Review existing research (EARNEST, Segmentation report, TF-MSP surveys, NREN Compendium) • Plan & develop specific tools with individual / groups NRENs • Feed info back to NRENs, TFs, PSP, NA2, GN3, wider community
