THE CROPPER CAPER By Jason I.
The night was perfect, like fresh apple pie, ‘til it happened… “What happened here?” asked Jean Frankenstein as he investigated the crime scene of Joshua Stinker’s house. “I don’t know, all of my money is gone!”yelled Joshua. He is the owner of Croppers and he keeps the money at his house.
Two days earlier… “Come on Jean,” said Margrette, Jean’s wife. “You’ve been working nonstop, like a bird finding worms.” “I can’t stop now Margrette,” said Jean. “There are too many crimes.” “You have to take a break sometime!” cried Margrette.
The next day… “Jean we need you here NOW!” yelled Max chief of the Investigating Crime Unit. “What’s up Max?” asked Jean. “I just heard of a robbery at Croppers,” said Max, “and we found some clues. A piece of gum, a card, a bandage, a glove, and a receipt.”
Later… “What happened here?” questioned Jean. “I don’t know. All of my money is gone!” shrieked Joshua Stinker. “I have four suspects Frank Bomb, Jake Staker, Mario Fredafan, and Sam Sugernaugh.”
“I also have two witnesses. Michael Adams and Kozu Stein,” said Joshua.
“Alright, you two are going to help me find our perpetrator,” stated Jean to Michael and Kozu. “We both think it’s Sam but we’re not positive,” said Michael. “We saw her leaving the scene like a cat stalking a mouse! She was following Joshua!” “We are going to have to question everyone!” yelled Jean.
Later that day… “I kept this receipt because I think it tells who the thief is!” declared Jean. “See the time, date, and what was bought.” “Great!” said Kozu. “All of the suspects but Sam were at Croppers, so she couldn’t have committed the crime. Mario was also there, but the cashier said he bought something then left.” said Jean.
“That leaves Frank and Jake,” Jean thought, but he was wrong. “Ugh, who could of committed the crime!” Jean cried. When Jean reviewed the receipt, he found the finger print. “Honey, you have to see this, I think I found our perpetrator.”
“Give it up Sam you’re out numbered!” yelled Jean. “Fine you caught me like a hawk catching a squirrel. How did you know!?” “I saw where the finger print was. You hit the receipt when you fled. I ran the print and it was yours.” Here is the money!” cried Sam. Sam returned the money and everything went back to normal, except Sam's now in jail.
