Why an Apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are an excellent way of gaining qualifications and workplace experience. They allow you to build a career in your chosen occupation whilst earning a weekly wage.
What is an Apprenticeship? Apprenticeshipsare made up of framework which includes: NVQ/Certificate/Diploma – This is the evidence collected in the workplace – daily tasks and duties mapped into the qualification. Technical Certificate – This is the taught section or knowledge part of the framework which is either delivered via a classroom session or 121 based at the workplace.
Functional Skills – We enhance English, Maths and ICT skills. Employment Right & Responsibilities – We ensure that learners are fully aware of their rights within employment. Health and Safety / Equality & Diversity – The same ERR we ensure learners are aware of current law and legislation. Personal Learning & Thinking Skills – These have been developed to allow learners to map our their chosen career with the personal skills required.

Training Apprenticeships are designed with help of the employers in the industry, so they offer a structured programme that takes learners through the skills they need to do a job well. The training undertaken will depend on the qualifications that are being studied, some could be delivered totally in the workplace, others could have a day release element where the learner attends college.
Duration Apprenticeships usually take anywhere between 14-18 months for an Intermediate Level Apprenticeship, 18-30 months for an Advanced Level and 24+ months for a Higher Level. It all does depend upon the qualifications being studied.
