  7. Sophos AV for Windows 2000+ • Automatic update to v7.6 end September • Requires reboot • AV protection maintained even if not rebooted • Anti-rootkit functionality included • Browser scanning • IE 6 & 7 Add-on (Browser Helper Object) • Blocking of malicious content

  8. Did you know…? • Device management • Block use of bluetooth, infrared, wireless, removable devices, etc… • Application control • Block unwanted applications using signatures • e.g. KaZaA, Doom • Via Enterprise Console policies

  9. ftp Access and Unzip Password • Authorised ftp access to micros.oucs.ox.ac.uk withdrawn • Wednesday 3 September • Logs show very little access • Unzip password on Windows client (personal edition) has gone • With 2008/9 version

  10. Credentials Change • Affects standalone personal versions only • Aiming to expire old credentials 4 November • New versions available from Registration as of Wednesday 10 September • Emailing users in October • Registered users only; excluding new users • Minor updates to web pages
