This is my turtle Taylor I had my baby since last year The love of my life Taylor moves around in its cage a lot and is very very active. Taylor would always steal food from its mating partner Ezra when I kept them in the cage together. I FEED TAYLOR PELLETS AND OR TURTLE DELITE WHOLE SHRIMPS
Facts on this type of turtle Red Eared Slider Turtles make great gifts as pets, as long as the owner is responsible with keeping them healthy. All of this can be done with the proper amount of attention to the turtle's behavior. People do disregard the fact that these turtles do grow. Large adult individuals may require up to 150-gallon tanks or better still, a pond if the outdoor environment is conducive. And if you are planning to keep the adult inside just make sure you have a large aquarium tank ready for it. And as sizes increase so does their care.
And with care comes more difficultly and it becomes more expensive. Sliders are very popular and often purchased for children, These turtles are very fun to watch, and are very active and entertaining you’ll never be board with them. The average lifespan of the Red Eared Slider is between 20 and 25 years, though some individuals may live as long as 40 years. Red-eared sliders are considered to be omnivores because they eat both animal proteins (i.e. crickets) and also vegetable matter. The baby turtles will need up to 40% of their food from strictly protein sources however when they grow up to be adult turtles than they will usually eat vegetation. These turtles mostly feed on small fish water snails and plants growing underwater when they are out in the wild. But when they are kept as pets small turtle food pellets will work just fine.

Taking care of your turtles Keeping the water warm is very important for your turtle's new environment. You should buy a water heater and thermometer to make sure that the turtle is kept at a good warm temperature. If you turtle is too cold he won't eat his food and if he is too hot than you might end up killing him so make sure that you have good heating instruments and monitor them regularly.
