Supported through the Higher Education Funding Council for England LGM Project: • Leading Curriculum Change for Sustainability – Strategic Approaches to Quality Enhancement Quality Assurance, Enhancement and Education for Sustainable Development: Creating a Framework for Dialogue CONFERENCE: Lakeside Centre, Aston University, UK: 2nd July 2012: 10.00am-4.00pm CONFERENCE THEMES AND QUESTIONS: • Education for Sustainability (EfS) is increasingly prominent in HE, but there has been little understanding to date about how its priorities for changing education might articulate with teaching quality agendas. This conference charts the unexplored terrain between these two worlds that rarely coincide. Its aim is to forge dialogue between EfS practitioners seeking strategic approaches to curriculum change, and quality professionals aiming to respond to contemporary educational influences and real world challenges. • This event is informed by a national HEFCE-funded project and explores key questions such as: • Q. What does EfS mean in relation to teaching and learning quality? • Q. How can institutions respond to this and what are the challenges? • Q. What are the strategic concerns of educators and quality professionals around EfS? • Q. How do we frame the dialogues and create platforms for innovation in this area? • Please join us for this innovative event, which aims to raise the stakes in curriculum innovation by sharing experiences and building bridges between these two spheres of HE practice. • KEYNOTE ADDRESS: Anthony McClaran, Chief Executive, Quality Assurance Agency DISCUSSION SESSIONS: Sector stakeholders panel and chat show on student interests and graduate profiles in EfS. INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES: Comparative views on EfS and quality based on leading practice in Australia. INTERACTIVE WORKSHOPS: Lessons from university pilot projects and soundings to inform QAA guidance. BOOKINGS CLOSE: Monday 25th June!
