Science Fair

Science Fair. Big Question. Will an egg float in hot or cold water? I wanted to test this because I thought it would be fun to find out if an egg will float. Hypothesis. My hypothesis is that both eggs will not float. The reason for that is because the egg is less dense than the water. Facts.

  2. Big Question Will an egg float in hot or cold water? I wanted to test this because I thought it would be fun to find out if an egg will float.

  3. Hypothesis • My hypothesis is that both eggs will not float. The reason for that is because the egg is less dense than the water.

  4. Facts • Neither of the eggs floated ! • The egg in hot water cracked • When I took out the egg out of the cold water and I held it in my hand it cracked?

  5. Materials -Two Eggs -Hot and Cold Water -Two Round Glass Glasses

  6. Step By Step Procedure • First You Put Two Eggs In Separate Glasses Of Hot And Cold Water. • You Wait About A Minute Or Two And Record Your Results. • Pour The Liquid Out And Put The Eggs Back In Their Carton.

  7. Variables • My variable is the eggs and the glass size and shape will not change.

  8. Observations • Neither egg floated. The reason for that is because the water is more dense than the egg.

  9. Observations

  10. Data • My data is that neither egg floated in the water.

  11. Analysis My hypothesis was wrong. I know this because the experiment tested my hypothesis.
