  2. Embedded File Management • In order to make it easier to manage files on the SD card the additional option „Embedded File Management“ can be used • Selecting Embedded File Management initiates a connection to an IP Office.

  3. Embedded File Management 1 • File Management opens and shows the content of the SD card.

  4. Embedded File Management 2 • SD Card Folders on System SD card. /primary: firmware for control unit,,expansion modules, supported phones, music on hold files, license key, copy of IP Office configuration /backup:copy of primary folder /lvmail : system prompts for embedded voicemail /AAG: sub-folder:embedded voicemail auto-attendant greetings /doc: initial installation documentationfor IP Office and Partner Version /dynamic: filesused by IP Office and retained through a reboot of the IP Office system /lvmail: user and group mailboxes, name recordings, announcements capacity max 15 hours /temp: temporaryfilesused by IP Office and retained through a reboot of the IP Office system

  5. Booting from SD Cards 1.System SD card /primary folder. 2.System SD card /backup folder. 3.Optional SD card /primary folder. 4.Optional SD card /backup folder. • Searching for a valid ip500V2 file • If no file is found, the control unit will fallback to making BOOTP requests to the network

  6. Backup/ Restore System SD card • Manager: Embedded File Management > File > Backup System Files Backup System Files: primary folder copy to backup folder Approx. 6 min. Restore System Files: backup folder copy to primary folder Approx. 6 min. The IP Office is then restarted using the files now in the primary folder

  7. Backup to Optional SD card • Manager: Embedded File Management > File > Copy System Card • Any matching files and folders on the Optional SD card are overwritten. Copy all files. Including /primary and /backup 90 minutes or longer

  8. Restoring from the Optional SD card • Embedded File Management > File > Upgrade Configuration configuration file (config.cfg) and licenses file (keys.txt) ….few seconds All files except: configuration file (config.cfg) and licenses file (keys.txt) Approx. 5 minutes • Embedded File Management > File > Upgrade Binaries These processes will cause the IP Office system to be restarted, disconnecting any current calls and services in progress.

  9. Upgrading Remotely Using Manager • Backup the content of the /primary folder • on the System SD card 2. Select File > Upload System Files And upload IP Office software files and Embedded voicemail prompts Remote These processes will cause the IP Office system to be restarted, disconnecting any current calls and services in progress.

  10. Upgrading the SD Card Localy You have physical access to the IP500v2 • Shutdown the System SD card 2. Remove the the SD card from control unit and insert in card reader in Manager PC 3. Recreate the SD card in Manager 4. Insert the SD card in the System SD card slot 5. Reboot the system File > Advanced > Reboot

  11. Upgrading Using an Optional SD Card • Insert the Optional SD card into a card reader on the Manager PC 2. Recreate the SD card in Manager 3. Insert the SD card in the Optional SD card slot 4. Upgrade Binaries 5. Automatic Restart

  12. Formatting SD-Card • WARNINGAvaya supplied SD cards should not be formatted using any other method than the format commands within IP Office Manager and IP Office System StatusApplication. Formatting the cards using any other method will remove the feature key used for IP Office licensing from the card. This process will erase all existing files on the card.

  13. Recreate SD-Card • Create the folder structure on a memory card and copy a set of IP Office software files into those folders. Insert the SD card into a card reader on the Manager PC

  14. Memory Card Command • Before a memory card is removed from an IP Office system that is running, the card should be shutdown. • Card removing will disable Embedded VoiceMail • Grace period 2 hours for licensing

  15. System Shutdown in Release 6.0 The shut down can be either indefinite or for a set period of time after which the IP Office will automatically reboot.
