Overview • Sponsored by WU Provost Office, a steering committee designed a professional leadership development program for Danforth Campus staff • Purpose: • To enhance the growth and contributions of staff through an ongoing leadership development program • To provide the University with a cadre of leaders who can contribute to University-wide initiatives and projects

The Program Professional Leadership Academy & Network Impacting Tomorrow’s Education Today
Program Overview • Intensive one-year program targeting eligible employees to develop a strategic network of staff • Curriculum designed to strengthen institutional knowledge, core leadership skills and appreciation for diversity • Combines classroom sessions, team projects and “lunch & learns” to build relationships and competencies
Target Audiences • Key contributors currently in or poised for leadership opportunities • Committed to diversity of thought, perspective and identity and inclusion • Demonstrated communication/critical thinking skills • Collaborative and eager to learn and improve competencies • Appreciation for and desire to further knowledge of higher education

Program Activities • LEARN at • Three 3-day classroom sessions • Mentoring “lunch and learns” with University administrators • COLLABORATE to • Devise strategic solutions on University project(s) • Deliver project presentations to University leadership • Attend program-end recognition ceremony

Mentoring lunch & learns • May 22, 2013 Graduation presentations *Each classroom session will be held all day Thursday and Friday & Saturday morning.
