2. You are an orphan in a soup line. You just finished eating when you look under the table and spot two train tickets. You head to the train station. Once you arrive, you find the trains. One is going to Texas and one is going to Grand Rapids. Do you want to go to Grand Rapids or Texas? Go to Grand Rapids Go to Texas

3. You are on your way to Grand Rapids. The people on the train are hobos hitching a ride to try to find work. You arrive at Grand Rapids three days later. When you arrive at Grand Rapids, people offer you jobs like working at a restaurant for a dime an hour. Another job was offered for crop picking which was for a dime an hour. Which job do you choose? Work at a restaurant for a dime per hour Pick crops for a dime an hour

4. So, you choose to pick crops. The owner of the crops gives you a job for picking spinach. When you pick some early spinach, he doesn’t get mad at you. He just says “It’s not wasted.” You aren’t poor because you are a hard worker and save all your money.

5. You choose to work at the restaurant. When you offer to work at the restaurant, the manager hires you to be the cook. Once you get an order, you have to make it quickly. When you make your first mistake, your boss gets angry and starts yelling at you. Another man who chose to work for crop picking was better off than you.

6. ` You choose to go to Texas. So you hop on the train. The train takes you off through trees. In two days you’re in Texas. You are offered two jobs along the way. One is to pick cotton for a dime an hour. The other one is to harvest crops for a dime a hour and a half. Which job to you choose? Get a job forharvesting crops for a dime for every half hour. Get a job for picking cotton for a dime a hour.

7. You chose to harvest crops and you pick the wrong crop. Your boss yells at you. Then you do it again. Your boss gets mad at you and almost fires you. You tried again, but your boss gets mad and didn’t want you to pick his crops. You were fired and are living on the street.

8. You choose to pick cotton for a dime an hour. By the third day you start working. You accidentally pick the wrong cotton. Your boss doesn’t yell at you, he just says, “It’s your first time, I understand.” So you ask him which is the right cotton. You say in your head, I’m glad I didn’t choose the harvesting. The boss is giving that guy a hard time.
