THE UNIVERSE All of the objects and energy in space makes up the UNIVERSE.
Stars A STAR is an object in space that gives of it’s own light and heat. The sun is the BIGGEST star in the universe
PLANETARY SYSTEM *A PLANET is a large ball shaped object that moves around a star in a filled path. *There are 7 planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune. *Pluto has now been proven to be a dwarf planet.
FOOD CHAINS & FOOD WEBS Producers~ an organism that makes its own food. Photosynthesis~ plants use sunlight to make there own food. Consumer~ organisms that eat other organisms or plants to get energy. Herbivores~ animal that eats plants. Carnivore~ animal that eats other animals. Omnivore~ animal that gets energy from eating plants or animals. Scavenger~ eats animals that have recently been killed. Decomposer~ breaks down on dead organisms and wastes to obtain energy.
Biomes Biotic~ include all living things in a biome. Abiotic~ are the nonliving things in a biome. Terrestrial~ land biomes. Aquatic~ watery biomes. Permafrost~ layer of frozen soil. There are six main biomes. Grassland, tundra, desert, rain forest, coniferous forest, deciduous forest.
