Unicov, the CZ • A small medieval town in the north Moravia, near a big town Olomouc. • Lies in a flat rich, Hana region • Founded in 1213 as one of seven Moravian Kings town • 12,364 inhabitants • Engineering-metallurgical complex, UNEX • 17th century after the war with Swedish, Germans from the mountain regions started to settle Unicov and German became an official language here. GRAMMAR SCHOOLBasic Information • Secondary Grammar School • Founded in 1870 as a German school. • German was a teaching language • In 1938, Unicov was added to Nazi Empire, Czech people had to move away • Changed into “Oberschule Für Jungen” • After WW2 the situation was opposite – German population was evacuated and in 1945 after liberation Czech schools were renewed • Since then Czech Grammar School in Unicov has existed • The history of our school is 140 years long. • Eight-year and four-year form of study • Preparation for university • Over 98% success • Open Days Basic Info.

Majáles • Contains students` celebration of May. • In communist era - protest against the political situation, • banned by communists who began to organize another kind of 1st May celebration- all people had to celebrate socialism and communist party. • After the Velvet Revolution (1989) renewed • Today, a great funny celebration of students life and presentation of their skills.
