  4. Flats Standard Mail New rectangular requirement for all flats New flexibility and uniform thickness standards for all flats New Not Flat-Machinable category Charge for detached address labels (DALs) on ECR flats and parcels.

  5. Flats Standard Mail Enhanced Carrier Route • Maximum dimensions • Increased to 12" X 15" • Standardized for all flats

Standard Mail Flats Acceptance Issues • New Standard: ECR flats prepared and mailed with detached address labels (DALs) – charge 1.5 cents each if DALs are used. • Situation: Mailer presents ECR flats with DALs but has not claimed the new DAL charge. • Action for Acceptance: Advise mailer on standards. Charge DAL charges as applicable for the mailing.
