Draw a line about 10 centimeters long on a piece of paper. Estimate how many pennies, lined up side by side would be needed to make a length of about 10 centimeters.
Partner work: Use longs to find the approximate length of the longer side of your math journals.
Now, use your longs to measure the length of a: pencil the width of a chair the length of a shoe Record two of the measurements in the table at the top of journal page 120.
