ENF background / overviewENF 2011 - the event, the project • EuroNanoForum is a biannual event of the EC • Prominent event of the Hungarian Presidency • ENF 2011 is financed by FP7 NMP • ENF 2011 project consortium: • Coordinator:National Office for Research and Technology • Partner:Spinverse • ENF 2011 is organized in cooperation with Nanotech Europe event

ENF International Advisory Committee – Terms of Reference Objective The International Advisory Committee is established to support the structuring and composition of the programme and key messages of ENF 2011 and its accompanying events, and the promotion of the event. Role The International Advisory Committee (IAC) is requested to participate (or offer written input) at two preparatory meetings dedicated to the conference programme, and give its opinion on the selection of posters and award recipients.

ENF International Advisory Committee – Terms of Reference First IAC meeting (16 Nov 2010) • Advise on the structuring / content of the conference • Advise on selection of keynote speakers • Recommend members of the Scientific Committee (the Scientific Committee will evaluate all papers submitted to the open call for papers) • Discussion about the promotion of the event Second IAC meeting (Mar 2011) • Give opinion on selection of speakers recommended by Scientific Committee • Advise on the final programme Advise on poster exhibition • Give opinion on selection of posters recommended by Scientific Committee • Select the best poster for the young researcher award

  10. ENF International Advisory Committee – Terms of Reference Financing ENF 2011 is financed jointly by the European Commission and the Hungarian Government. Funds will be available to cover the following costs of the members of the International Advisory Committee: • Travel costs (travel, hotel, meals) to two International Advisory Committee preparatory meetings • Invitation to ENF 2011, covering travel costs (travel, hotel, meals) and entrance fees

Conference contentEuroNanoForum – The Nanotech ERA ENF 2011 The European Nanotechnology Research Area: Nanotechnology for Economic and Societal Benefits • The Science oriented sessionaims at highlighting world class research, including collaborations, ERC activity and experience, research infrastructure, research facilities, international cooperation and mobility. • The Business oriented sessionfocuses on European competitiveness, taking into account challenges of sustainability. It looks at the value chains for transferring new technologies into new products, by enterprises and nanotech-clusters involving SMEs. The Session presents examples of the PPP approach and of venture capital involvement. • The Society oriented sessionaims at a holistic approach to involve strategic thinking. The session addresses the crucial issue of societal acceptance of nanotechnology. The session opens and directs society’s attention to nanosciences and nanotechnology; it discusses approaches to engage the public, build trust. It addresses education, and calls for stakeholders’ involvement.
