LESSONS LEARNED • Multiple stakeholder involvement and buy-in • Physicians and clinical leaders must be part of the measure development process. • Physicians must have the ability to review results in context with others prior to the results being made publicly available. • Data must be easily available and accessible from sources such as electronic medical or administrative (billing) records. • Measures must be easily interpretable for the reader to attach practical meaning in making healthcare designs without significant explanation.
