Introduction… • Amul is an Indian dairy cooperative, located at Anand in the state of Gujarat, India. • AMUL - Anand Milk Union Limited • Formed in 1946, it is a brand managed by the Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd. (GCMMF). • Today is jointly owned by 3.6 million milk producers in Gujarat.

  2. The word ”amul” is derived from the sanskrit word ”amulya” which means valuable. • Amul is the world’s largest pouched milk brand and it is the largest food brand in india.

  3. Dr. Verghese Kurien is the founder and chairman of the GCMMF for more than 30 years and is credited with the success of Amul. • He is also known as “ The Milkman of India “ and the “ Father of White Revolution “

The Amul Mascot • Amul girl refers to the advertising mascot used by Amul. • The Amul girl is a hand-drawn cartoon of a young Indian girl dressed in a polka dotted frock with blue hair and a half pony tied up. •  The Amul girl advertising have often been described as one of the best Indian Advertising concepts because of their humour. • It was executed by Sylvester Da Cunha.

My Reflections on this project • I got to learn about how effective advertisement can be done as Amul did it. • I also learned a lot about Amul brand, its various products and its vast market. • This made me realize about different strategies adopted by brands to keep their name in market and also give in return Quality Production.
