PDE 2010 May 18th – 20th, 2010 The 12th NASA-ESA Workshop on Product Data Exchange
Location: Voksenåsen Hotel http://www.voksenaasen.no/en/ http://www.visitoslo.com/en/ Voksenåsen is the hotel located on Oslo’s rooftop. Miles from the noise of the city, but yet so very near. As long as you carry on driving uphill you are heading in the right direction – until you reach a unique hotel offering Oslo’s most spectacular view.
Did you know this? Andøya Rocket Range (ARR). Established in the 1960s, the first sounding rocket launch occurred in 1962. In the years since then about a thousand launch vehicles have lifted off from ARR. Customers come from all over the world, agencies like NASA, DLR, JAXA, CNES and many more have chosen to launch their vehicles from Norway. ARR also hosts the ESA/NSC European Space Education Resource Office (ESERO). , http://www.rocketrange.no/ Svalbard Satellite station (SvalSat) was established in 1997 and the rapid expansion of the ground station is changing this perspective. SvalSat is recognized, not only as the northernmost, but also the best-located ground station in the world. http://www.ksat.no/Products/Svalsat.htm The Norwegian Space Centre (NSC) is a government agency under the Ministry of Trade and Industry. NSC promotes the development, co-ordination and evaluation of national space activities as well as supports Norwegian interests in the European Space Agency (ESA). http://www.spacecentre.no/English/

PDE 2010 OBJECTIVES To bring together developers, implementers and users of product data exchange and data sharing solutions, and to share experience obtained in development, implementation, deployment and operational use. To provide an international forum to discuss methods and technology for the reliable capture, management, exchange, sharing and long term archival of product/system information, especially through the use of open standards. To identify or showcase interoperability standards and technology for product lifecycle management of complex systems, including cross-fertilization between solutions developed in different industry sectors. To identify gaps where new solutions need to be developed — or where existing ones need to be extended — and to bring together the people to foster such initiatives. To promote development and adoption of open standards for model-based systems engineering — improving the specification, acquisition, design, analysis, verification, validation and operation of complex systems through the use of executable models (executable in a simulation environment). More at: http://conferences.esa.int/pde2010 Norway in Space Norway has a long tradition in space and more specifically you will find leading experience in satellite communications and control, with stations at Svalbard and Antarctica. High latitude locations create many opportunities for scientific research including aurora borealis and space weather. Both NASA and ESA use the Andøya Rocket Range for sounding rockets and balloon missions. More at: http://www.spacecentre.no/english/ Hosted by:
