  2. Definitions Oracle- a site where a god or goddess was consulted or an priest or priestess who spoke for the gods. Philosopher- someone who discovers things about the world. Tragedy- a dramatic disaster that is usally a problem for the main character. Tribute- a normal payment made to a strong state or nation by a weaker one.

  6. 3 facts • The Greeks worship a family of gods and goddesses called the twelve Olympians. • The Golden Age of Athens is when philosophy and the arts flourished and democracy reached its highest point in Athens. • The Greeks used architectue and sculptures to glorify and honor the gods.
