  4. Praxis II - Preparation • Studying for the test • Chose a time and place for studying that works best for you. Some people set aside a certain number of hours every morning to study; others may choose to study at night before retiring. Only you know what is most effective for you.

  8. Praxis II - Preparation • Don’t cram the night before the test. You may have heard many amazing tales about effective cramming, but don’t kid yourself; most of them are false, and the rest are about exceptional people who, by definition, aren’t like most of us.

  9. Praxis II - Preparation • When you take the practice tests, try to make your testing conditions as much like the actual test as possible. Turn off your television, radio, and telephone. Sit down at a quiet table free from distraction.

This will save you time in you need to re-read the question. Do not leave an answer blank on the answer sheet; it is better to guess than to leave an answer space blank.

Too hot, too cold, etc. • Check registration ticket for test day and time. • Plan to arrive at the test center early. • Bring admission ticket and 2 forms of ID w/ recent photo. • Several #2 pencils w/ erasers (ever-sharp).

  20. Praxis II – Taking The Test • Wear a watch so you can pace yourself. • Take only what you will need for the test. • No cell phone !!!!!!!!!!! • Do not eat or drink heavily before the test. Limit your caffeine intake. Think about the night before as well.

Finishing 1st does not win you a prize. • Follow all of the rules and instructions that he test proctor gives you. • Listen closely as the test instructor provides the directions for completing the test. • Be sure to mark only one answer per multiple-choice question, erase all unwanted answers and marks completely, and fill in the answers darkly and neatly.
