  2. Le meduse • Le meduse hanno la forma ad ombrello. • Non possiedono veri e propri occhi, ma speciali organi di senso che percepiscono la luce o l’oscurità e la profondità. Sono distribuiti a intervalli regolari lungo l’orlo inferiore dell’ombrello. • Si muove verso la superficie e affonda non appena si ferma. • Si nutre dei piccoli animali del plancton che risalendo in superficie di notte, di giorno si trattengono in profondità. • Si riproducono rilasciando le larve che si adagiano sul fondo del mare dove diventano piccoli polipi. In primavera ogni polipo emette delle escrescenze simili alle gemme di un albero le quali aumentano facendo assumere all’animale adulto la forma di una stella.

  3. Circa 200 specie tutte marine. • La forma principale è la medusa liberamente natante. • Corpo circolare. • Simmetria in quattro parti, con quattro tentacoli orali e quattro serie di organi produttivi. • La medusa è maschio o femmina. FINE
