Current teacher • Staying within the comfort zone of a more behaviorist approach • Incorporate some of the above motivation tactics • Alter her teaching style in minor ways to accommodate his lack of attention • Let him stand at his desk • Let him draw the words she is reading (at his desk) • Move from punishment to positive reinforcement (Skinner & Thorndike) • Cards flipping for good behavior • Marbles - each signify some “reward” • Make the positive more immediate (not 20 weeks away!)
