Introduction • LAHD acts as the City’s primary affordable housing finance agency, providing funds for the development of affordable rental and for-sale housing, and home improvement loans and grants to low and moderate income homeowners. • Affordable rental housing targets persons and families with incomes at or below 60% of Area Median Income (AMI). • First-time homebuyer programs target low to moderate income homebuyers at or below 80% of AMI up to 150% of AMI. • LAHD leverages Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund with State, Federal, County, and private dollars, including State Prop 46 funds, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax-Exempt Bonds, HUD 202/811 awards, City of Industry Funds, Conventional Loans, and other resources as available. Affordable Housing Trust Fund Through the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, LAHD assists in the development of affordable housing units that benefit: - Large Families - Seniors - Persons With Special Needs In addition, the Trust Fund also helps to develop and preserve projects which are: - At Risk of Converting to Market Rate - Adaptive Reuse Los Angeles Housing Department

Permanent Supportive Housing Program • The City’s first Permanent Supportive Housing Program to combine permanent housing and on-site supportive services • For homeless and chronically homeless adults and families, and transition-age youth • Joins the forces of four City departments: Los Angeles Housing Department Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency Los Angeles Department of Water & Power Housing Authority of the City of Los Angeles • The City’s Program provides capital and operating subsidies Los Angeles Housing Department
