  2. Diversity and Multicultural Education • Diversity is the differences each person has that makes them unique. • Multicultural education is teaching children of many different cultures in ways they will understand.

  3. Bilingual Education • Bilingual Education should be an option for all children, not just for children learning English as a second language. • When some are getting help with English, others should be learning a language other than English.

  4. Everyone is Equal • Some strategies that can be used to reduce the effects of racism are… • Group activities that involve team efforts for the activity to be a success. • Show through lecture that being different is good because everyone is good.

  5. Becoming Aware of Students’ Differences • Observe classroom behaviors • Do research on other cultures to help you know what to look for. • Just because people look the same, like these men, does not mean they are the same.
