Exploring Indicators The Academy focuses on: • 14 Rapid Improvement Leader Indicators (pg 114) • 9 Teaching & Learning Indicators (pg 115) • 21 District Indicators of Effective Practice (pg 53) 16
Exploring Indicators Task #1: • Distribute indicators in envelopes • Individually, read your indicators. For clarification review “Wise Ways” (#) • Individually, think about how well the SU (all schools) is implementing the indicator (1-Not at All; 2-Occassionally; 3-Frequently) 4. Place indicators under the rating on easel sheet 17
Exploring Indicators Task #1 (continued): • As a group discuss: • Any surprises? • Questions that arise concerning why an indicator might fall in a certain rating. • What evidence are you collecting to support what you are indicating? • As a group, come to consensus on how each indicator should be rated 18
Exploring Indicators Task #1 (continued): • For the indicators that you rated a “1” or “2”, discuss: • Any policies/processes/practices that are getting in the way of moving you a “3.” If so, can they be changed? • Any policies/processes/practices that might be included in a District Operations Manual to assist the schools in strengthening these indicators. 19
