  4. Importance • Game is faster than ever before • Players are bigger, stronger, and faster • Chance of injury increases • You are at a serious disadvantage without improvements in strength, speed, flexibility, and endurance

Format, Example of a workout • Warm-up: • often overlooked • avoid injury and perform at the highest level possible • Dynamic activity followed by stretching • The Workout  • Cool Down: • similar to the warm-up • helps flush the body of lactic acid and toxins produced by the muscles during the workout • long, slow stretching to recover the muscles and improve flexibility
